The Wytchery has now been running for 5 months on the second Monday of the month at Treadwell’s Books in London. The space only holds 16 participants and classes have been selling out quite quickly. While we’re not out to make a profit, we do have to pay for the space and materials, so it’s been a £10 per head charge.
Classes generally start with a short meditation followed by a discussion and some practical making – we’ve made witch jars, wands, incense and candle spells so far, with more to come. We then learn a little bit about the subject we are studying and put it into practice with a short group ritual.
Most people who come along have never worked with a group before and are getting to experience first-hand what this might be like. Several have enjoyed it so much that they have gone on to look for a regular coven, and we’ve tried to help them. It’s a friendly group and many are making connections with each other outside the group as a result.
We are currently in the middle of a series of classes focusing on the elements, with Water and Earth to come, following which we’ll do some exploratory work with Gods and Goddesses.
Spaces are bookable from our Meetup group, just search for ‘Wytchery’ once you are logged into ‘Meetup’, either online or on the app. We tend to open the classes up for booking the week before the actual date as they sell out quickly. Some people do still cancel, so tickets have been available same day in the past, however they are taken quickly. You can join our mailing list to get an email as soon as booking is open, do use our contact us form to request this.
Happy Wytching, wytchy people!
